C2R2 has a proven track record of advancing workforce development and applied research in Canada through funded projects and industry collaboration.
Funded by Employment and Social Development Canada through the Sectoral Workforce Solutions Program, this $46.5 million national initiative was designed to upskill and reskill workers for Canada’s clean economy in weeks, not years. The project strengthened collaboration between post-secondary institutes and industry and expanded access to short-cycle, labour market-aligned training across five key sectors: Agriculture and Agri-food, Clean Tech, Construction, Natural Resources and Transportation.

With support from the Royal Bank of Canada, C2R2 brought together post-secondary experts from across its 15-member network, facilitating the exchange of training insights and defined more systematic pathways to improve the uptake, quality, and consistency of home retrofit education.
These discussions informed the development of a national Community of Practice to advance workforce readiness in the green building sector.
C2R2 has secured an additional $200,000 through the generosity of public and private supporters. These contributions enhance program delivery, expand outreach efforts and support emerging sustainability initiatives. Funding has enabled expanded access to training for high school learners and supported early-stage organizational development, strengthening the long-term sustainability of C2R2 programming.
