Canada faces two intersecting challenges: a housing shortage and increasing demand for skilled workers capable of delivering energy-efficient, climate-resilient buildings. The Advancing Access and Skills Training for Green Buildings and Retrofits initiative responds directly to both.

Funded in part by the Government of Canada’s Sectoral Workforce Solutions Program, C2R2 is leading a coordinated, pan-Canadian effort to expand access to practical, job-ready training that supports the transition to energy-efficient, climate-resilient buildings.

An investment of $11.3M

(April 2025 – March 2028)

This initiative represents workforce development at scale, aligned with labour market needs, and delivered where it matters most.
